During the pandemic,  I lost my job as a massage therapist and started making candles with affirmations for my meditation practice. What began as a way to lift my spirits became a creative ritual and eventually, a business.

But the story really began long before my first candle.

I've spent my life following a line from poet Rumi: “follow the strange pull of what you really love, it will not lead you astray.” Even though from time to time, it has definitely felt  like I was waaaaaay off course. 

That pull took me from studying Spanish in college and moving to Spain, to the mountains of Colorado, the rainforests of Maui as a hiking and rappelling guide, and all the way to Australia, where I sought healing and rediscovery after losing my sister, Julia.

Eventually, it brought me home to Chicago, where I married the man I had manifested while heartbroken in Hawaii.

Through adventure, love, loss, and unexpected turns, I've learned that life isn't meant to be rushed through, and if you want it to feel special, the secret is to create your own magic in the ordinary moments of life,  and then make the time and effort to be present and really enjoy it.

My background in massage therapy, yoga, and meditation plus the stunning nature of places I've visited and lived have taught me the beauty of slowing down and reconnecting with our senses. Astra & Arrow is where those lessons and a lifetime of following my intuition come together.

It's my invitation to you to find little moments of magic in everyday life,  indulge in life's little pleasures, and remember that you don't need a special occasion to make life feel special.

Here's to slowing down, choosing a mood of gratitude,  and feeling more along the way.
